Are you still alkaline batteries? If so, alkaline batteries just do not have power for more than a few photos on a digital camera. Some may even have difficulty feeding the top of the camera.
Point & Shoot digital camera are used for the most part only with NiMH batteries. Wal-Mart sells them for about $ 7) for a pack of four (about $ 15-19 for the batteries with charger. The camera is obviously defective, no batteries. Take in the repair or replacement or refund.
